After developing my new website - www.coolsciencehub.com - for the last couple of months, I am please to announce this website is now live. The original schedule for the release is Dec school holiday. However, I pull in the schedule by about 3 months because I think the website is now more or less ready except some minor touch up. The goal of this new website is to provide a collaborative platform for science students and enthusiasts around the world to interact with each other. To achieve this objective, the website consists of the following features: forum, multi-author blog, video sharing, photo sharing , document sharing, news reader and links. In addition, it comes with a Google-powered customized science search engine.

In contrast to my first website www.sikod.com which involves quite a bit of hand-craft coding plus free open source software (OSS), the new website is almost completely powered by free OSS. The underlying web design uses the powerful Joomla content management system, while the rest of the components use:

In my opinion, Joomla has made web design accessible to the mass. You can do a pretty professional website within a short period of time using Joomla. The video below gives you some idea about Joomla:
